More than 500 people still without power from Wednesday's storms as new outages hit Thursday

More than 500 APS and SRP customers were still without power Thursday night due to Wednesday night’s storms.

PHOENIX — Thousands of APS customers woke up without power Thursday morning after monsoon storms damaged infrastructure across the Valley.

As of 9:30 p.m. Thursday, 580 people were still without power from Wednesday night’s storms, according to the SRP and APS Outage Maps.

New storms Thursday night caused more outages affecting 2,480 APS and SRP customers. Restoration times show anytime between 10:45 p.m. to 3:45 a.m.

“Our crews are working to restore the outage caused by downed power poles,” the company said online.

People affected by power outages in the Phoenix area can be reimbursed for the purchase of up to 40 pounds of bagged ice if power is out for longer than 10 hours.
