Ongoing Investigation Into Mysterious Death of Havasu Woman

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the death of 33-year-old Marissa N. Hoffmann, a Lake Havasu City woman reported missing earlier this summer. Investigators resumed their inquiries this weekend after her remains were discovered last month near London Bridge Road.
Sheriff’s officials revealed on Friday that they are currently awaiting toxicology results and a comprehensive report from the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office to further understand the circumstances surrounding Hoffmann’s death. These findings are crucial for determining the next steps in the investigation.
Hoffmann was last seen by her family members on July 10, prompting serious efforts to locate her that intensified on social media platforms by July 13. Surveillance footage from the local Walmart captured her exiting the store just after 8:24 p.m. on the day she went missing, where she appeared to run from the building.
On July 23, authorities located Hoffmann’s shoes, purse, and earbuds in the desert area between the Walmart and the point where family members were able to ping her phone. These items were significant clues in the ongoing search.
The following day, Mohave County Search & Rescue teams conducted a thorough search in the vicinity, leading to the tragic discovery of Hoffmann’s remains approximately 100 yards behind the Walmart store.
As the investigation continues, detectives informed Hoffmann’s family that an autopsy report might be accessible by August 24, marking a vital point in understanding this heartbreaking case.
