Olson Real Estate Group Sues City of Sedona and Council Members in High-Stakes Legal Battle
Olson Real Estate Group Inc. and 115 Schnebly LLC have initiated legal proceedings in Yavapai County Superior Court, targeting 14 defendants, including the city of Sedona.
The listed defendants encompass Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow, Vice Mayor Holli Ploog, Councilwoman Melissa Dunn, Councilman Brian Fultz, Councilman Pete Furman, Councilwoman Kathy Kinsella, and Councilwoman Jessica Williamson, each named individually. Additionally, private citizens Carol Breen, Nancy Friedman, Sean Smith, Mark TenBroek, Lauren Thomas, and Christine Wagner are also defendants due to their filed appeals against the development.
The development at the heart of the dispute involves the Oak Creek Heritage Lodge, slated for 115 Schnebly Hill Road. This project is backed by RD Olson Investments II LLC, owner of 115 Schnebly LLC. Previously, on April 16, the city of Sedona’s Planning & Zoning Commission had unanimously approved the development review for the lodge.
However, on June 25, the Sedona City Council, by a narrow 4-3 vote—where Fultz, Dunn, Ploog, and Jablow formed the majority—reversed the Planning & Zoning Commission’s decision, effectively revoking the approval.
The Yavapai County Superior Court has already issued summonses for all named defendants. Further developments will be reported in the upcoming print edition of Sedona Red Rock News.
