Oldham’s 28 Points Propel Aztec Men to Victory Over Arizona Sol with Dominant Rebounding

The Pima Community College men’s basketball team, boasting an impressive record of 17-0, claimed victory in their final non-conference game of the regular season against Arizona Sol on Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.
The sixth-ranked Aztecs showcased their offensive prowess, with six players scoring in double figures and four achieving double-doubles in points and rebounds. The final score was a commanding 120-67, marking their 11th game this season with a total exceeding 100 points.
After a closely contested start, where the Aztecs held a slight 28-26 advantage, they ended the first half on a spectacular 29-4 run, leading 57-30 at halftime. The second half continued the trend, as Pima outscored Arizona Sol 63-37.
Sophomore Gabe Oldham led all scorers with a stellar performance, netting 28 points on 13 of 17 shooting, while also securing 10 rebounds. Wes Ball, another sophomore from Marana High School, recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, hitting 8 of 11 from the field.
Freshman Brock Mendoza made a significant impact off the bench, contributing 14 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks, finishing 6 of 8 from the field. His classmate, Isaac Johnson, also earned a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, alongside four steals on 4 of 5 shooting.
The Aztecs dominated the boards, collecting a total of 72 rebounds, including 22 offensive boards. Max Majerle, another sophomore from Arcadia High, added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while freshman Brigg Wolfe contributed 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Pima Community College now shifts focus back to the ACCAC conference, with a match against Scottsdale Community College scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m.
