No full freeway closures this weekend, Dec. 13-16

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has confirmed that there will be no full freeway closures in the Phoenix area this weekend, spanning December 13-16. However, travelers should be aware of certain lane and interchange restrictions due to the ongoing Broadway Curve Improvement Project along Interstate 10, particularly near Sky Harbor Airport.

From 10 p.m. on Friday until 4 a.m. on Monday, I-10 will be reduced to two or three lanes between 40th Street and Baseline Road. Additionally, both HOV ramps connecting I-10 and US 60 will be closed during this period. Drivers should allow extra travel time and exercise caution when navigating through construction zones, particularly while merging.

Moreover, 40th Street will be closed in both directions at I-10 from 8 p.m. on Friday until 4 a.m. on Monday for bridge work. East- and westbound on-ramps at 40th Street will also be inaccessible. Motorists are advised to use detours via 32nd Street or Broadway Road to bypass these closures.

For further updates, including any changes to the planned restrictions, visit the ADOT website or check the Weekend Travel Advisory map online.
