New Year’s Day Baby: Valley Family Celebrates Arrival of Their Newborn at Midnight

MESA, Ariz. — A family in the Valley welcomed the new year with the joyful arrival of a baby boy, born just minutes after midnight at Banner Desert Medical Center.
The infant, named Jose, arrived at 12:18 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Patricia Ramos, his mother, expressed her excitement, stating, “I feel very blessed for becoming a mom for a second time. Jose Alvarado Leobardo has a little brother waiting for him at home. I wish everyone a fabulous year.”
According to a news release from Banner Health, the birth was a celebrated event for the hospital staff. Barbara Edwards, Nurse Director at Banner Desert Medical Center, remarked, “Welcoming a baby into the world is always a privilege, but to do so as the clock strikes midnight fills us all with immense joy and hope.
