New Stoplight Activates Today at Bowlin, W&P: A Safer Journey Begins!
New traffic signals at the intersection of Bowlin Road and White and Parker Road became operational on October 14, 2024. City crews have completed final adjustments to the traffic light sensors, which incorporate artificial intelligence technology for optimized signal timing.
According to city spokesperson Monica Williams, this intersection has historically experienced a high rate of crashes. The implementation of these traffic lights is expected to significantly improve safety conditions. The project is anticipated to reach full completion later today.
As of this afternoon, crews were observed working diligently at the intersection, adjusting traffic boxes and repositioning traffic pylons. A street sweeper made multiple passes to ensure the area was free from debris. Prior to this project, the intersection functioned as a two-way stop, where traffic flowed without stop signs for north- and southbound lanes.
