Maricopa’s shuttle service, Ride 347, is transforming its buses into festive transportation for the upcoming Halloween season. This unique initiative will spotlight InMaricopa’s “Mystery Mansion Mayhem” home tour, launching tomorrow with 46 haunted displays on a special map.

From tomorrow until Halloween night, local residents can participate in a public voting event to determine which house stands out as the most haunted in the area. Lori Riley, co-owner of Ride 347, emphasized the need for community engagement: “People have been depressed for so long, and we’re just trying to provide something fun that’s affordable for families.”

Ride 347 will offer different tours, including a senior-focused excursion on October 28 from 5:15 to 7 p.m. In addition, families can enjoy all-ages tours on October 25, 27, and 29, running from 7 to 8:45 p.m.

Riley noted that many locals face transportation challenges, stating, “There’s a lot of people in our town that want to get out but may not feel safe driving.” The tours will depart from the northeast parking lot at Copper Sky Regional Park.

Tickets for adults and seniors are priced at $13, while children’s tickets cost $10. Guests are encouraged to don their Halloween costumes, as Ride 347 plans to decorate the buses for added festivity.

The interactive map for the Mysterious Mansion Mayhem will be available tomorrow, detailing the 46 participating homes. Although the bus tour won’t cover every location due to time constraints, Riley aims to create a route that highlights the most creatively decorated houses.

“We’re committed to showcasing as many of the displays as possible,” Riley stated. She acknowledged the effort homeowners put into their decorations and aims to ensure those contribute meaningfully to the voting process.

Ride 347 will maintain regular airport shuttle services during the tour nights. However, Riley mentioned that the tour on October 27 is nearly sold out, indicating a strong community interest. “If demand continues, we might be able to add more times,” she added.

Originally initiated by the city government, the Mysterious Mansion Mayhem has been a tradition in Maricopa for 17 years, and InMaricopa took over its presentation last year. The previous year saw overwhelming participation, with over 30,000 votes tallied, proclaiming Shaun Martin’s Cradle Bay Sanatorium in Alterra as the most haunted home in the city.
