Maricopa Police Department is currently without suspects or leads in a New Year’s Eve assault captured on surveillance video in The Lakes at Rancho El Dorado. The incident, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on Bolivia Street, has raised concerns in the local community.

Surveillance footage of the altercation was posted on Facebook by a user named James Adderbery. The video depicts a confrontation between a man and a woman, culminating in the man striking the woman, who then collapses to the ground amidst the sound of a loud boom. The account from which the video was shared is sparse, featuring no profile picture or prior posts.

Further investigation revealed that there is no individual registered under the name James Adderbery in the U.S. Instead, InMaricopa identified the account’s true owner as James Attebery, a 36-year-old resident of Bolivia Street. The intention behind the account’s creation remains unclear.

As the footage circulated and drew hundreds of reactions in a Maricopa Facebook group, the police were alerted to the incident. “There was apparently an incident in The Lakes on New Year’s Eve, but it was not reported for approximately 24 hours,” stated MPD spokesperson Monica Williams. “Officers received a video that was circulating on social media and conducted several interviews trying to identify the parties involved.”

Despite their efforts, the Maricopa Police Department has yet to identify any suspects in this case, leaving the community anxious for answers.
