3 things to watch as fall semester begins at ASU Lake Havasu

Arizona State University’s Lake Havasu City Campus is set to commence its fall semester on Thursday, August 22, expecting to once again break enrollment records.

Enrollment numbers will be finalized 21 days post-semester start, but preliminary projections indicate a substantial increase in student registration across ASU campuses, particularly in Lake Havasu City.

Carla Harcleroad, director of ASU Lake Havasu, revealed that the campus has already recorded 224 students for the upcoming semester, reflecting a remarkable 91.5% growth since Fall 2020. The official enrollment census will take place on September 11.

In a significant shift, ASU has also announced the discontinuation of the ASU Local program at the Lake Havasu campus. Although this program offered a connection to over 160 undergraduate courses through ASU Online, students can still access these options remotely. Harcleroad emphasized that the focus will shift towards enhancing nearly 20 campus immersion programs, including business administration, communication, psychology, biology, and nursing, among others.

Additionally, the campus is welcoming high school students eager to obtain college credit. The Connect Now Program enables qualified juniors and seniors to enroll in ASU courses. Harcleroad noted that 29 high school students have signed up this semester, with a strong interest in STEM subjects.

“Faculty and staff are excited to welcome them to campus this fall,” Harcleroad stated, highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding the new academic year.
