Monsoon Storms Persist: Weekend Weather Wreaks Havoc
PHOENIX — This weekend promises near-normal temperatures for Arizona residents. On Saturday, valley highs are anticipated to reach 106 degrees, while the High Country will enjoy milder temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Flagstaff is expected to see a high of 78, accompanied by isolated afternoon storms.
Monsoon rains are forecasted to persist over the weekend. Southeastern Arizona’s higher terrain will experience the most intense storm activity on both Saturday and Sunday. Isolated storms may also affect the high country, rim country, and White Mountains.
A predominantly sunny sky will prevail across the valley, but attention is needed for strong winds and blowing dust, particularly on Saturday evening. There is also a possibility of some storms from the southeast encroaching into the valley after 4:00 p.m.
As the monsoon storms continue to diminish, temperatures are projected to gradually rise into next week.
