Missing Arizona woman found, taken to hospital for injuries

A 60-year-old woman who went missing while hiking in Gold Canyon has been found and transported to a hospital after suffering injuries related to heat and a fall.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office reported that the hiker set out on the Cloudview trail around 5 a.m. on Monday but did not return. Her vehicle was discovered parked near the trailhead, prompting an immediate search operation.

By Tuesday, officials confirmed that the woman had been located by rescue teams. She was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb expressed gratitude towards the Search and Rescue teams and the Department of Public Safety Ranger for their critical role in the successful recovery.

“Had the victim spent any more time in the desert, we may not have had this positive outcome,” Lamb noted, emphasizing the dangers posed by the severe conditions.
