Metro District Undergoes Transformation: A Look at the Latest Developments

The City of Phoenix, in collaboration with a consultant team, is seeking community input on the conceptual designs aimed at enhancing the Metro District. This initiative focuses on creating a more sustainable, walkable, and secure environment for residents. A survey has been launched, accessible at www.phoenix.gov/nweii, and will remain open until January 10. It is designed to be completed in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
The survey draws from over a year of community feedback, technical assessments, and strategic visioning processes. It highlights three key opportunity areas and outlines six major ideas intended to shape the future of the Metro District. The Transit-Oriented Community Plan serves as a 25-year roadmap to establish more sustainable and accessible neighborhoods around light rail stations, specifically at Metro Parkway, Mountain View, and 25th Avenue, as well as 19th Avenue and Dunlap.
Participants are encouraged to share their opinions on topics not covered in the survey and will also have the chance to enter a raffle for a Castles-n-Coasters Thrill Ride Pass upon completion.
