Mesa police looking for missing 16-year-old girl

MESA, Ariz. — The Mesa Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public in locating 16-year-old Virginia Wood, who has been reported missing.

Wood was last seen around 11 p.m. on March 13, departing her residence near Stapley Drive and McKellips Road. She stands at 5’6″ and weighs approximately 118 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Authorities noted she was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans at the time of her disappearance.

Her family suspects she may have left to meet a man named David, whom she encountered online. They shared that she informed a friend about her plans to meet David and someone named Zahir, whose identity remains unknown to them.

Details from a missing persons flyer indicate that Wood typically wears four layered silver necklaces and has pink and blue fingernails adorned with rhinestones. Her family is deeply concerned for her safety.
