Mesa football coach charged with attempting to lure minor for sexual exploitation, claims Surprise PD

MESA, Ariz. — Richard Godsil, the football coach at Dobson High School, was arrested on Thursday by Surprise police. He faces serious felony charges that include furnishing harmful items to minors and aggravated luring of a minor for sexual exploitation, according to statements from law enforcement to 12News.
The principal of Dobson High School confirmed that Godsil was taken into custody on campus and that he has been placed on administrative leave as a result. Importantly, the investigation has clarified that the charges do not involve any students from the East Valley school district.
