Mesa Community College Lockdown: Suspect Flees Scene of Crash
MESA, Ariz. — Mesa Community College (MCC) was placed on lockdown briefly Thursday afternoon, following an incident nearby, according to a college alert.
The alert directed students and staff at the Southern and Dobson campus to seek shelter, lock doors, and remain quiet. This action was taken in response to a nearby crash involving two cars, which police suggested might have been the result of racing or road rage.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that a man may have fled the scene, prompting increased security measures at the college. The lockdown lasted until approximately 4:30 p.m., when the college announced it was safe to return to normal activities.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further updates are anticipated as more information becomes available.
