Medics Assess Children Following T-Bone Incident Near Butterfield Elementary

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision this afternoon, which disrupted traffic near Butterfield Elementary School.
According to Phoenix Regional Dispatch, the incident occurred at approximately 2:38 p.m. at the intersection of Butterfield Parkway and Duncan Drive. A white Chevrolet Trax SUV, traveling eastbound, sustained heavy damage to its front end, with airbags deployed as a result of the crash.
The collision was identified as a T-bone incident involving a dark gray Ford Explorer SUV, which showed visible damage on the driver’s side front door.
Medics at the scene provided treatment to a female victim found lying on the ground, as well as a young girl seated on the curb nearby. The current conditions of both individuals have not been disclosed.
Responding units included Engine 575 from the Maricopa Fire Department, four officers from the Maricopa Police Department, and one ambulance. Duncan Drive remains closed while traffic is rerouted as authorities conduct their investigation into the crash.
Mishell Terry, a spokesperson for the Maricopa Unified School District, confirmed that the elementary school experienced no disruption since classes were not in session for Good Friday.
