MCSO: 2 children taken to hospital after crash sends vehicle into canal

Two children were hospitalized following a morning crash in Maricopa County, Arizona, that resulted in one vehicle plunging into a canal. According to a spokesperson from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Perryville and Yuma roads.

Fortunately, all occupants managed to exit their cars safely. Although the children were taken to the hospital for precautionary measures, officials reported no further injuries stemming from the crash.

Helicopter footage captured at the scene revealed a motorcycle that had crashed nearby. It was later confirmed by the MCSO that the motorcycle collided with another vehicle after the initial crash. The motorcycle rider sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, which remains unclear. Updates will follow as more details become available.
