McDonald’s Introduces Exciting New Permanent Menu Item After Four-Year Hiatus

WASHINGTON — In an exciting update for fast-food enthusiasts, McDonald’s has announced the introduction of its first new permanent menu item in four years. The McCrispy Strips will officially be available at participating locations nationwide starting May 5.
These new strips will feature 100% white meat, enveloped in a crispy, golden-brown coating, enhanced with a bold black pepper flavor. Customers can choose from three- or four-piece servings, each paired with a corresponding Creamy Chili Dip—described as a savory blend of sweet and tangy flavors created to complement the chicken.
Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, expressed enthusiasm for expanding their chicken offerings. “The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable,” she stated. “We took our time, listened to our fans, and created a product we knew they would crave.”
In a nod to technology, the McCrispy Strips and Creamy Chili Dip can be ordered via the McDonald’s App, as well as through in-restaurant, McDelivery, and Drive-Thru services at participating locations.
Additionally, McDonald’s hinted at the return of another beloved item: the snack wrap. Originally launched in 2006, the wrap was phased out from U.S. menus in 2020, prompting a wave of online petitions and fan demand for its revival.
Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, previously noted that the snack wrap is expected to return in 2025, citing a passionate following. Last week, the brand’s account on X hinted at a specific date with the cryptic message: “snack wraps 0x.14.2025,” which may suggest a potential announcement date in the coming months.
Guillaume Huin, senior marketing director at McDonald’s, remarked on the influence of social media in the wraps’ return, stating, “The people won, and there’s no better gift for a company than the one to just make people happy.” Currently, the snack wraps remain available in other countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom.
