A man displays a red hat reading “make fishing great again” outside a polling station in Maricopa on November 5, 2024. The polling results from Maricopa reveal a district finely split between the supporters of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to the latest tabulations from Pinal County Elections, six precincts favored Harris, while six supported Trump. Harris’s stronghold neighborhoods included Maricopa, Tortosa, Desert Cedars, Senita, Rancho El Dorado, and Alterra North, where she garnered over 50% of the vote, leading Trump by an average of five points.

The most significant pro-Harris precinct was Alterra North, with 54% of its voters opting for her compared to just under 47% for Trump. Despite this localized support, Trump maintains an overall lead in Arizona, averaging five percentage points ahead of Harris, a curious development in a state characterized as a swing region.

Precincts such as Maricopa Meadows, El Dorado, Province, Maricopa Wells, Maricopa Fiesta, and Santa Rosa leaned heavily toward Trump, with the former president securing an average of 53% in these areas. Notably, Santa Rosa was particularly favorable to Trump, recording 56% support against Harris’s 43%.

The surrounding areas of Maricopa showcased contrasting political dynamics. The Ak-Chin Indian Community overwhelmingly supported Harris with an 80-20 vote split, while Trump claimed victory in Thunderbird Farms with two-thirds of the votes and triumphed in Hidden Valley with a commanding 70% support.
