Maricopa Woman Collides with Police Car While Fleeing from Chase

Maricopa police report a serious incident involving a rental car and a police cruiser that occurred on Saturday night. Nataji Brown, 31, allegedly left her home following a dispute with her fiancé, taking his rental car and cell phone.
While driving a Chevy Malibu, Brown was pursued by police after she refused to stop when officers activated their lights and sirens. According to police documents, she made a U-turn and sped away, ultimately colliding with a cruiser operated by Cpl. Carmen Nylander.
The impact resulted in injuries to Cpl. Nylander. Assessing the situation, officers noted that Brown exhibited signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and a strong smell of marijuana. Toxicology results are still pending.
Brown has faced multiple charges, including aggravated assault against a police officer, failing to stop for law enforcement, driving under the influence with a suspended license, reckless driving, and theft.
