The Maricopa-based band Endless May has launched a new rock anthem, “Call My Name,” now available on streaming platforms. Released on January 3, 2024, the track showcases the band’s unique sound that blends synth-heavy alt rock with intricate rock ballads.

Composed by members Matthew Mitchell, Darrel Hartman, and Mark Kear, the song features Tucson vocalist “Junebug,” known for her powerful performances. The band’s evolution from cover music to original material began about a year ago, marking a significant step in their artistic journey.

“Endless May was sort of a feeling we got,” Kear explained. “Everything just felt right when we all got together and started writing. It’s family, basically.” The artistic process is collaborative, with band members often bringing riffs or lyrics to the table, fostering creativity through teamwork.

As they navigate the challenges of promoting their original work, the band recognizes the changing landscape of the music industry. Mitchell noted the difficulty in securing performance opportunities compared to their days as a cover band. “You have to find the right mix,” he said, referring to teaming up with other bands for gigs.

Despite the obstacles, Endless May remains determined. All four members also work as construction inspectors for Consor in Phoenix, balancing their day jobs with their passion for music. The band aims to return to the studio soon, with plans for more releases later this year. Kear said, “We’re trying to get back in the studio, hopefully in the next month or so.”

Listeners can experience Endless May’s music on Spotify, where they hope to build their audience by connecting genuinely with fans through live shows and digital platforms.
