Maricopa Family Offers $2,000 Reward for Missing Doodles

A Maricopa family is urgently seeking assistance after their two cherished dogs disappeared last week near John Wayne Parkway and Carefree Place, located in southern Hidden Valley.
The missing dogs, Karma and Ona, are an apricot labradoodle and a black labradoodle, respectively. Karma has a distinctive white patch on her chest, while Ona features white markings on her chin and chest. They were last spotted around 4 p.m. on June 4 and were both wearing matching reflective collars.
Liz Soto, whose mother is the owner of the dogs, expressed deep concern for their well-being. “They’re our babies. They’ve kept my mom sane and helped her cope with grief after losing my stepdad. We’re desperate to get them back,” she stated.
The family is offering a $1,000 reward for each dog, totaling $2,000, with no questions asked for the return of Karma and Ona.
Reports of sightings have come from various locations, including Casa Grande and Scottsdale. In Scottsdale, a woman allegedly claimed to possess one of the dogs and showed reluctance to return it.
“We’ve had leads all over the place,” Soto remarked, noting that initial sightings were close to their home, but have since expanded widely.
Soto expressed concern over rumors surrounding a property on Meadowview Road, known for taking in stray dogs and possibly euthanizing them if they remain unclaimed. Previous reports detailed instances of animal abuse in Hidden Valley.
“There’s been a lot of pressure with that,” Soto added. “We’re at the point where, if you have them, we’ll give you the money. We just want our dogs back.”
A witness last saw Karma being picked up by an unidentified person in a white box truck as it was leaving the neighborhood.
