Maricopa Congress Rep Backs Biggs for Governor at Turning Point Bash

PHOENIX — Republican Congressman Eli Crane publicly endorsed Rep. Andy Biggs for Arizona governor during a Turning Point Action event over the weekend.
Crane praised Biggs, emphasizing his extensive political qualifications. “We are so lucky to have a guy like Andy Biggs running for governor,” Crane remarked. He highlighted Biggs’ previous role as the president of the State Senate and his decade of experience in Washington, D.C.
Biggs has led the House Freedom Caucus, a prominent conservative faction in Congress. Crane noted, “I’d be surprised if there were anyone running for governor with the experience that Andy has.”
Both Crane and Biggs are recognized members of the U.S. House Republicans’ Freedom Caucus. The event attracted other notable conservatives, including U.S. Reps. Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and Paul Gosar.
Biggs engaged directly with attendees, sharing his vision for Arizona. He promised to eliminate income taxes, arguing it would enhance the economic landscape of the state. “With you keeping more money in your pocket, Arizona will zoom in prosperity,” Biggs declared.
Additionally, he pledged to implement robust border security measures. “We will work with local law enforcement to eliminate the threats of human trafficking and drug cartels,” he stated.
Biggs, an ally of former President Donald Trump, raised eyebrows during the 2020 congressional election certification when he questioned the legitimacy of Trump’s loss. His academic credentials include a B.A. in Asian studies from Brigham Young University, an M.A. in political science from Arizona State University, and a J.D. from the University of Arizona.
This endorsement reflects a growing support base for Biggs as he campaigns for the governorship. His focus on fiscal policy and border security resonates strongly with constituents who prioritize these issues.
