Man’s Body Discovered After Phoenix Blaze Extinguished on Medical Building Roof

A small fire was reported on the roof of a medical building on August 5. Firefighters later discovered a man’s body.

PHOENIX — A minor fire broke out Monday afternoon near Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, triggering an investigation by Phoenix police.

The incident occurred on the roof of an outpatient medical office building, which is not affiliated with Dignity but is located nearby. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

After the fire was put out, responders found the body of a deceased man. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities stated the investigation is ongoing, but preliminary findings suggest there is no suspicion surrounding the death.
