A man was shot by officers from the Maricopa Police Department in the Desert Passage neighborhood on January 29, 2025, according to a spokesperson. The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. when police responded to a call for service in the vicinity of 40700 West Portis Drive.

Monica Williams, the police spokesperson, confirmed that the injured man was taken to a Valley hospital. No officers were harmed during the encounter. However, details regarding the nature of the call that prompted the police response remain undisclosed.
