Man hospitalized in JWP crash, severity of injuries still to be seen

Maricopa police and fire departments were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on John Wayne Parkway, just south of West Bowlin Road, around 6:30 p.m. on August 6.

Initial reports from Phoenix Regional Dispatch indicated a possible five-car collision, but upon arrival, only two vehicles were involved: a Volkswagen ID.4 SUV and a Ford Mustang. The Volkswagen suffered front-end damage while the Mustang’s rear was significantly impacted.

A blood-covered man was transported to a hospital in the Valley, though the severity of his injuries remains unclear. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident.

In response to the incident, southbound traffic was temporarily blocked and rerouted through the Copper Sky complex and Alterra neighborhood.
