Prosecutors say Jesus Alexandro Sanchez-Armenta was using social media to coordinate transporting undocumented immigrants.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man, Jesus Alexandro Sanchez-Armenta, has been sentenced to 72 months in prison. Authorities claim he used Snapchat to organize the transportation of undocumented immigrants from southern Arizona further into the United States.

The US Attorney’s Office reported that Sanchez-Armenta, age 23, pleaded guilty to the charge of Conspiracy to Transport Illegal Aliens for Profit on February 22. His sentencing took place in July.

Prosecutors detailed the use of social media platforms in his operations. Sanchez-Armenta leveraged Snapchat to coordinate the pickup and transportation efforts.
