Major Intersection Crash: At Least 1 Hospitalized

Maricopa police and fire services responded swiftly to a two-car collision at the intersection of Smith Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway at around 11 a.m. on August 10, 2024. The incident involved a BMW sedan and a Dodge SUV, both of which sustained heavy front-end damage and were immobilized in the westbound lanes of Smith Enke.
According to Phoenix Regional Dispatch, emergency crews had to extricate at least one individual from the wreckage. The injured party was subsequently transported to a hospital. City spokesperson Monica Williams reported that the injuries were minor.
Traffic on westbound Smith Enke Road is currently restricted as the scene is being cleared.
