Arizona multi-car collision
Major Closure on John Wayne Parkway Following Copper Sky Accident

A two-vehicle accident has caused significant traffic disruptions on John Wayne Parkway in Maricopa, leading to a large emergency response. The incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and John Wayne Parkway, a site of a previous collision last month. Current reports indicate that the roadway remains closed.
Emergency responders, including two fire trucks and an ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene. Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies are actively interviewing the drivers involved in the crash.
The accident involved at least two vehicles: a gray Nissan Rogue SUV with deployed airbags and substantial side impact damage, alongside an older gold Ford Focus with major front-end damage. Fire personnel evaluated at least two drivers, while law enforcement engaged with other witnesses and passengers.
Northbound lanes of John Wayne Parkway are shut down, redirecting traffic through the Copper Sky Complex via MLK Boulevard. Details regarding injuries and the cause of the collision remain unclear as an investigation is currently active, according to an MPD spokesperson.
An ambulance continues to remain on-site. This is an unfolding story, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
