Loop 202 at 44th Street Reopens After Tragic Collision

PHOENIX — A serious incident on Loop 202 near 44th Street resulted in one fatality, according to officials from the Department of Public Safety.

In total, two crashes occurred in the vicinity, prompting a significant response from emergency services. The westbound lanes of Loop 202 Red Mountain were closed at 44th Street while authorities assessed the situation.

The roadway experienced delays but was eventually reopened shortly after 9 a.m. as traffic resumed normal operations.
