Local business donates $4,200 to parks & rec swim program

Lake Havasu City officials announced that local business Craig Plumbing has generously donated $4,200 to fund swim lessons for 100 children. This donation was delivered to the city’s parks and recreation department, highlighting the community’s commitment to child safety.

Aquatic Supervisor Swan Cooke expressed gratitude towards Craig Plumbing during a ceremony recognizing the donation. “The timing could not be more perfect, with August being ‘Drowning Impact Awareness Month’,” Cooke noted. “We greatly appreciate this contribution and are thrilled to empower more children in our community to learn and gain confidence in the water.”

Caitlin Craig, representing Craig Plumbing, presented the check to city officials. She shared her personal motivation, stating, “As a mom with a toddler and another on the way, I want to remind everyone to watch those kiddos around water.” Her commitment to community safety is commendable.

Craig emphasized that the donation aims to ensure children can acquire swimming skills without financial burden on their families. “Our goal is to provide 100 kids with free swim lessons, creating another layer of safety for our kids around water,” she affirmed.
