Local Burrito Joint Eyeing High-Traffic Circle K for Bold New Location

Burrito Express, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant known for its handmade burritos, has announced plans to open a new location within the Circle K at Honeycutt and Porter Roads. This gas station is one of the busiest in Arizona, making it an ideal spot for the chain’s expansion.
Recently, the City of Maricopa received a site plan, project narrative, and building permits for the new establishment. The plans indicate that Burrito Express will share space with the existing Circle K at 41433 W. Honeycutt Road.
Jeremy McMurtry, a facilities coordinator for Circle K in Tempe, confirmed the swift progress of the project. “We are going to set up a bid walk and then schedule construction once we award a general contractor the bid,” he stated.
Construction is projected to commence in mid-July or early August, pending the gas company’s plans. “We are really at the mercy of the gas company,” McMurtry added.
McMurtry also finalized the design for new signage, which will soon be visible on the Circle K facade, approved for fabrication by Graham’s Neon.
This will be Burrito Express’s inaugural location in Maricopa. Founded in Tempe in 1995, the family-owned chain has expanded across the East Valley, gaining a loyal customer base for its hearty breakfast burritos and community-focused service.
The new restaurant is set to enhance the quick-service options available at this high-traffic fuel stop, further solidifying Burrito Express’s presence in the region.
