Little Snitch: The Ultimate Guardian for Your Mac’s Privacy
Don Senneville and Jim White
In a delightful twist, the search for the perfect coffee spot in Scottsdale led us to Little Snitch, nestled within the vibrant environment of El Pedregal. The setting, complete with pink umbrellas and bustling baristas, sets a charming scene for relaxation. We noted the Morning Bar’s impressive offerings, and while an early coffee seemed ideal, the unique Tequila Morning Express and the drink named after the bar itself sparked curiosity.
Little Snitch’s bar area exudes a whimsical vibe, reminiscent of a Barbie-themed cafe. We opted for the coffee and pastry bar, where the peach scones proved heavenly. Observing a family indulge in extravagant pastries alongside their American Express card highlighted the quality of the treats, which can only be described as otherworldly. It left us pondering the intriguing name, “Little Snitch,” while we felt slightly beyond our pastry budget. Nevertheless, this venue, along with Press macchiato in Sprouts and Einstein’s dark roast drip, showcases the area’s diverse coffee culture.
Our journey down Scottsdale Road also underscored the significance of inviting patios. While Little Snitch’s outdoor area offers comfort, the Grotto in Cave Creek stands out with its shaded privacy and artistic landscaping, elevating the breakfast experience. We now see an exciting task ahead—delving into the local breakfast burrito scene as we begin the “burrito wars.” From Grotto to Brunch and beyond, we’ll explore burrito variations and welcome any suggestions. Are burrito bowls or chimichangas in the running?
Defining a breakfast burrito may require community input. We’re open to volunteers for this culinary exploration!
Starbucks is also on our radar as the new CEO, previously of Chipotle, aims to simplify the menu. He believes the overwhelming options have diluted profits, leading to longer lines at stores. The push to refocus on coffee culture might restore the café atmosphere originally envisioned for these establishments. This raises the hopeful notion of fostering conversation among patrons again, reminiscent of the intellectual salons of earlier centuries. Coffee Row embodies this spirit, where creativity and camaraderie can flourish.
As October nears, another conversation looms—pumpkin lattes. Their increasing presence in cafes raises eyebrows, as many feel pumpkin flavor is mismatched with coffee. Some argue for a more subtle approach to seasonal flavors, perhaps leaning towards cinnamon instead. Alternatively, local spots like Happy Bee Meadery may provide a taste of fall more in line with seasonal themes. We invite feedback from fellow coffee enthusiasts on this divisive topic, so don’t hesitate to voice your opinions at The CUP at [email protected].
