LFPA: The Missing Link in Maricopa’s Performing Arts Scene

The Learning Foundation & Performing Arts (LFPA) in Gilbert is making waves as it prepares to kick off its 22nd year. Renowned for blending strong academics with an emphasis on the arts, the school offers a unique educational experience for students passionate about creativity.
Located at Recker and Warner Roads, LFPA provides both junior high and high school curricula alongside a K-6 program. Executive Administrator Jennifer Wright emphasizes the school’s commitment to diverse educational offerings: “We cover the gamut of what families want, meaning we offer all core classes, electives, arts, and sports.”
Students engage in traditional subjects like chemistry and English, while also having the chance to immerse themselves in ceramics, guitar, dance, or musical theater. Competitive options include basketball and volleyball for aspiring athletes.
LFPA is fully accredited by Cognia, and students can take dual-enrollment courses through Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Brigham Young University. The school has earned accolades from U.S. News & World Report for its educational excellence.
Notably, LFPA students have showcased their talents on stages in prestigious locations such as Disneyland and New York City, with plans for an upcoming performance trip to Japan. The dance team excelled by reaching the state championship, and the cheerleading squad clinched first place in their division this year.
However, the true value of LFPA lies in its nurturing environment. “We have a smaller classroom setting, so students feel like they’re more than just a number; they become part of a community,” Wright explained. Class sizes average around 19 students.
Governing Board President Evelyn Taylor echoes this sentiment, highlighting the emotional well-being of students. “It’s heartening to see kids walk down the hall, happy and getting along—it truly feels like a family here,” she remarked.
LFPA is also considering the addition of a bus stop in Maricopa and is keen to hear from local families regarding their transportation needs. If you believe a performing arts education aligns with your child’s aspirations, the school welcomes inquiries about enrollment and community interests.
