Conserva Mi Voto, a civic engagement group focused on Latino and Veteran initiatives, announced significant achievements following the recent 2024 elections in Arizona and beyond. Among their noted victories were the election of David Lara as Yuma County Recorder and Arizona Rep. Steve Montenegro’s ascent to Speaker of the Arizona House. The organization emphasized its successful educational campaigns aimed at empowering Latino voters this election cycle.

David Lara, a small business owner and noted advocate for election integrity, serves on the board of Conserva Mi Voto. He garnered attention for his powerful address during the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee, where he highlighted concerns over drug cartels exploiting children in San Luis and the strain on local emergency services from illegal immigration. “Small towns like mine bear the brunt of the chaos,” Lara stated, criticizing President Biden and Vice President Harris for their perceived inaction.

Lara’s plea resonated strongly as he urged support to reelect Donald Trump, declaring, “We must reelect Trump to put our citizens first and make America strong again.” He concluded his speech with the rallying cry, “Latinos estamos con Trump,” (Latinos are with Trump). A report from Reuters indicated that Trump’s support among Hispanic voters hit a historic high in recent exit polls, surpassing earlier Republican performances.

According to the same report, Trump’s overall Latino support surged by 14%, with notable gains among younger voters, ages 18-29. Roman Campuzano, a board member of Conserva Mi Voto, commented on this shift, saying, “As more Latinos understand their voting power and the policies of progressives, they are reshaping the political landscape. They are rejecting socialist proposals and opting for candidates aligned with their values.”

The organization also celebrated its role in defeating Glendale Proposition 499, a measure that could negatively impact the local hospitality industry. Their efforts were recognized by the Glendale City Council, which declared October 22, 2024, as Latino Heritage and Empowerment Day, honoring Conserva Mi Voto for its contributions to civic engagement and support for family and veteran issues.
