Lake Havasu Names New CEO to Lead Future Growth

Go Lake Havasu has appointed its new CEO, Shawn Buckley, following a comprehensive four-month search. Buckley, previously associated with travel agencies in New Mexico and Wyoming, will take up the role in early December.

The recruitment process was facilitated by Tower Hunter, a Phoenix-based firm specializing in executive placements. Buckley’s extensive experience includes serving as Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Tourism at Visit Albuquerque, as well as the Executive Director of Sheridan Travel & Tourism in Wyoming.

Kristina Gallo, Chair of the Go Lake Havasu Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Buckley’s capabilities. “Shawn is a natural fit for Go Lake Havasu,” she stated. “His passion and understanding of our community will enhance our vision and elevate Lake Havasu as a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts.”

In his response, Buckley conveyed enthusiasm about his new role. “I’m honored to join the Go Lake Havasu team and promote this incredible destination,” he said. He emphasized his commitment to working closely with the community to showcase Lake Havasu’s unique attractions.

For the past four years, Buckley has operated as the president and manufacturer’s representative for Buckley Brands, LLC. His work primarily focused on sales and training for nearly 20 brands in the outdoor and shooting industries across the Rocky Mountain region, as noted on his LinkedIn profile.
