Lake Havasu City voter turnout in primary similar to previous years

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors officially certified the election results on Thursday morning. The board voted unanimously to affirm all votes, marking a key step in the electoral process.

Out of 139,298 registered voters in Mohave County, 45,385 participated in the election, resulting in a 32.58% voter turnout. Voter engagement was slightly higher in Lake Havasu City, where the northern part saw a 39.41% turnout and the southern part reported a 35.08% turnout.

While the Lake Havasu City Council results are not yet official, a special meeting scheduled for next Tuesday aims to canvass the results. As of Monday afternoon, all Mohave County ballots had been counted, revealing preliminary outcomes for the council race.

According to the final unofficial counts, Nancy Campbell, David Diaz, and Cameron Moses are set to join the Lake Havasu City Council. In total, 33,616 votes were cast for the council positions, alongside 64 write-in candidates and 903 rejected ballots.

Comparing this year to previous elections, the 2020 primary saw a 41.39% voter turnout in north Lake Havasu City and a 38.32% turnout in the south, with 33,351 votes cast for the council race. In 2022, voter participation slightly increased with 35,945 total votes for council positions.
