La Quinta employee ordered tons of DoorDash with stolen customer credit cards

A La Quinta Inn and Suites employee, Henil D. Patel, has been arrested for allegedly using stolen credit card information from hotel guests to order food through DoorDash. The 26-year-old faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated identity theft and credit card fraud, as reported by the Maricopa Police Department.

According to police records, Patel accessed the personal information of at least three guests between August 14 and November 11. Utilizing this information, he reportedly made 48 unauthorized orders under fictitious identities.

One merchant at Edison Pointe plaza lost $363.72 due to refunds related to one of the compromised cards. Additional victims incurred losses, with one cardholder losing $206.81 and another $91.46, as stated by authorities.

During a police encounter at the hotel located on M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard, Patel confessed to the theft. He claimed he resorted to using others’ credit card details to purchase food necessary for his survival.

Authorities discovered a slip of paper containing handwritten credit card details along with La Quinta branding when arresting Patel. Following his capture, he was booked into Pinal County jail, facing a potential prison sentence of up to nine and a half years.
