Kiwanis Marketplace Thrift Shop Marks a Decade of Community Impact

The Kiwanis Marketplace Thrift Shop has officially reached its 10th Anniversary, celebrating a decade of service to the Cave Creek and Carefree communities. Established in 2014, the Marketplace has become a go-to destination for residents, offering quality items at affordable prices while supporting the charitable efforts of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree.

Throughout its history, the Kiwanis Marketplace has provided a diverse selection of gently used goods, including furniture, clothing, electronics, and home décor. More than just a thrift shop, it has played an essential role in funding numerous community service projects organized by the Kiwanis Club.

Proceeds from the Marketplace primarily support local initiatives such as student scholarships, youth programs, and various charitable endeavors. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our community,” stated Alex Perez, General Manager of the Kiwanis Marketplace. “Our success over the past ten years is a testament to the incredible support we have received from our customers, volunteers, and donors.”

The Marketplace’s dedication is evident, having raised over $5 million for local causes since its founding. This stream of funding has enabled the Kiwanis Club of Carefree to support various organizations, including the Desert Foothills YMCA, the Cave Creek Museum, the Sonoran Arts League, and the Cave Creek Unified School District. Notably, this year alone, over $500,000 in scholarships was awarded to local students.
