K-12 Students Given Unique Opportunity to Showcase Their Art

Young artists are urged to participate in the Phoenix Public Library’s annual Celebrate Black Voices Virtual Art Exhibit. The library invites students to create artwork inspired by Black history or culture, whether depicting an influential individual or a significant historical event. Participants can draw from personal experiences, school lessons, or literature, enabling them to express their creativity. The aim is to explore intriguing subjects that resonate with them.
The selected works will be showcased in a virtual gallery on the library’s website from February to December 2025 and highlighted on social media platforms throughout Black History Month.
Eligible artists include students in grades K-12, each allowed to submit one piece. Artwork can be produced using various mediums, such as crayon, marker, colored pencil, paint, or collage. Additionally, all submissions must be created on white paper, with a maximum size of 11″ x 17″; lined or colored paper will not be accepted. Submissions must also include a completed submission form.
Entries can be submitted in person at any Phoenix Public Library location or via email to socialmedialibrary@phoenix.gov.
