Exceptional Community Hospital of Maricopa has appointed Iven Wilson as its new chief nursing officer, effective March 3, 2025. A seasoned healthcare executive and U.S. Army veteran, Wilson brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in clinical and operational settings.

Before joining Exceptional, Wilson served as CEO for various Banner-affiliated surgery centers within Atlas Healthcare Partners. There, he led significant improvements in quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction, demonstrating his ability to drive transformative change.

Bob Cardenas, Arizona market CEO for Exceptional Healthcare, praised Wilson’s leadership qualities, stating, “Iven’s commitment to patient-centered care aligns perfectly with our mission and values. His expertise will greatly benefit our nursing teams and the wider Maricopa community.”

Wilson’s career spans senior roles at organizations like Steward Health Care and Healogics, where he achieved success in strategic planning and resource optimization. He holds a certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, applying data-driven methodologies to enhance performance and encourage continuous improvement.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Wilson stated, “I am honored to join Exceptional Community Hospital and lead alongside a team dedicated to clinical excellence and community service.” His educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Phoenix, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution. Wilson also served as a Combat Medic and Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States Army, adding to his unique qualifications for this leadership position.
