Deadly west Phoenix crash under investigation


PHOENIX — Two men tragically lost their lives following a crash Friday night in west Phoenix, as confirmed by local authorities. The incident occurred just after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of 43rd and Northern avenues.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash involved two vehicles, each driven by one of the deceased men. The victims were later identified as 23-year-old Donnie Martinez and 35-year-old Ricardo Quintero.

Preliminary reports indicate that Martinez was heading northbound on 43rd Avenue when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with Quintero’s vehicle. The exact cause of the crash remains unclear, and police have not disclosed whether impairment was a factor.

Both men were transported to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately did not survive their injuries. Authorities have not provided additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
