Introducing Yseult: The Voice Behind “My Way” at the Olympics Closing Ceremony

After Yseult’s performance, her next goal is winning over hearts in the United States.
PARIS, France — Yseult aimed to make the most of the grand stage at the Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony. Her objective was twofold: showcase France and elevate her international music and modeling career.
Standing tall at the Stade de France, Yseult’s performance was a statement. She sang Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” originally a French piece by Jacques Revaux and Claude François. Her rendition was both a nod to her roots and a declaration of her bold, fierce persona.
“The lyrics match perfectly with my career,” Yseult expressed to The Associated Press. Choosing Sinatra’s version echoed her resilient spirit more than its French counterpart.
Her next step is to conquer the American audience with her new album, “Mental,” set to release on September 20. This project is integral to her plans for global influence in entertainment and fashion.
Yseult spoke with the AP about her upcoming album and how online bullying impacts her mental health.
In France, Yseult’s candid lyrics speak volumes about her experiences as a Black woman. Despite her strength, she has faced online trolls targeting her plus-sized physique.
“Public bullying is very painful,” she confided. Nevertheless, she stands tall, leaning on her resilience to overcome negativity.
Rather than retaliate online, Yseult channels her emotions into her music. Her new album “Mental” features English lyrics and aims to address her mental health struggles.
“On my last project, I talked about my vulnerability. Now, I needed to share where I am mentally,” she outlined.
Yseult has also carved a niche in the fashion world. She’s starred on major runways and is a L’Oreal global ambassador.
“I embrace my fears and imperfections,” she said, hoping to inspire other curvy women.
Looking forward, Yseult aims to establish her own unisex brand, leveraging her fashion industry connections.
Yseult believes the Paris Olympics showcased the true face of France — diverse and inclusive. She expressed pride in the country’s rich cultural spectrum.
“You can feel the vibe, the attitude, the personality,” she concluded, emphasizing that even without fully understanding the lyrics, the emotion in her music transcends language.
