After nearly two decades of serving the community, Carly’s Bistro on Roosevelt Row shut its doors for the last time on May 3. The closure marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new one. Carla and John Logan, the previous owners, have handed the reins to three experienced local hospitality professionals: Mike Cheathem, Jordan Hudgens, and Michael Bodow. This fall, they will unveil Industry Standard at 128 E. Roosevelt St.

“It’s surreal for us,” Bodow remarked. “I attended ASU, and both Mike and Jordan have grown up right here in the Valley. Bringing our vision to life in a place we cherish is truly a dream come true.”

The new proprietors, deeply rooted in the local dining scene, aim to provide an “elevated yet approachable” dining experience that emphasizes seasonal ingredients and diverse flavors. Hudgens stressed the importance of maintaining the spirit of Carly’s while adding their unique culinary flair.

“We are honored to carry forward the legacy of Carly’s Bistro,” Hudgens said. “Our menu will offer eclectic takes on classic dishes, incorporating local favorites with a twist.”

Globally inspired dishes, presented in a familiar and approachable manner, will be a hallmark of the new menu. The beverage program is set to be equally compelling. Keifer Gilbert, known for his cocktail creations at UnderTow and Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour, will curate the cocktail list. Meanwhile, Cheathem’s expertise will shine through the carefully selected wine list and craft beer options.

“We are passionate about our city’s food and cocktail culture,” Hudgens explained. “Industry Standard is meant to serve our neighbors and set a high bar for what the dining experience should be — through impeccable food, beverages, and, most importantly, exceptional service.”

Catering to local hospitality professionals, Industry Standard plans to stay open late, offering a welcoming space for after-work gatherings. Events and industry-focused specials are also in the pipeline. For more details, visit www.industrystandardaz.com.
