Joe Biden looking down

By Stephen Moore |

President Joe Biden’s tenure in the White House nears its conclusion, marking his current status as a lame duck with six months remaining.

Biden’s presidency, critics argue, was undermined by a Democratic establishment and a complicit media that misrepresented his cognitive state during the election. These power-driven maneuvers jeopardized the nation’s well-being, convincing voters that Biden was fit for another term.

The controversy surrounding Biden extends beyond his mental faculties. His administration’s policies garnered substantial criticism.

Upon entering office, Biden aligned his administration with far-left agendas, emphasizing climate change, income redistribution, extensive government expansion, contentious racial policies, and a controversial foreign policy approach. Many assert that his actions made President Richard Nixon appear less severe in comparison.

Evaluating Biden’s policy achievements, or lack thereof, reveals a troubling economic record.

His administration’s substantial debt accumulation resulted in inflation reaching unprecedented heights in nearly four decades. The average family saw a $2,000 income decrease when adjusted for inflation during Biden’s term. Despite vaccine availability, COVID-19 fatalities during his presidency surpassed those under Trump.

Economic turmoil under Biden included rising interest rates and a declared war on American energy production. Biden’s revitalization of the Paris Climate Accord coincided with global fossil fuel usage surges, impacting U.S. oil and gas output and aiding adversaries like China and Iran.

Further, gas prices rose, small business confidence plummeted, and poverty rates saw a substantial increase.

Biden’s presidency was also marred by significant administrative failures. The chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal became a security debacle. Border control disintegrated, with millions attempting illegal entry. A costly $7.5 billion initiative for electric vehicle chargers resulted in minimal implementation achievements.

His controversial student loan forgiveness program faced backlash for being both illegal and unethical. Many key regulatory positions were filled by individuals averse to business, reflecting in their policies. A majority of his appointees lacked business experience, which manifested in their governance.

Biden’s departure is anticipated to leave the country worse off — economically weakened, more divided, heavily indebted, and less globally respected.

His promise to unite the nation went unfulfilled, potentially ranking him among the five worst presidents of the 20th and 21st centuries, according to some analysts.

With Biden’s presidency waning, attention shifts to Vice President Kamala Harris. Having supported Biden’s policies and witnessed major crises, her potential candidacy raises concerns.

Such scenarios evoke anxieties about the future direction of the nation.
