Hot Thursday, rain by Sunday! Cooler temps to follow.

PHOENIX — A cooling trend is expected to begin today and continue into the following week as a weather disturbance moves across the western United States. This system will bring breezy to locally windy conditions, impacting the region significantly.

As moisture levels rise in anticipation of another disturbance, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will increase by the weekend, adding to the volatile weather patterns observed in Arizona recently.

The seven-day forecast indicates notable temperature fluctuations. By Thursday, temperatures will soar to 107°F during the day and drop to 79°F at night. Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with a slightly lower high of 102°F, while Sunday and Monday will see cooler temperatures of 96°F accompanied by scattered showers.

In terms of the ongoing monsoon season, the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains currently show no significant moisture levels, as measured by the Monsoon Meter.

Extreme weather has been a pressing concern across Arizona, with reports of thunderstorms, flooding, and wildfires. A compilation of these events is available for viewing on the 12News YouTube channel, showcasing the state’s dynamic and often severe weather landscape.
