Hobbs Orders Half-Staff Flags Monday to Honor Fallen Apache Junction Officer

Governor Katie Hobbs has directed all state buildings to lower flags to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, June 16, in remembrance of Apache Junction Officer Gabriel Facio’s funeral and procession.
“I’m devastated by Officer Facio’s passing. My heart goes out to his family, the Apache Junction Police Department, and fellow law enforcement,” the governor stated in a news release.
Officer Facio, who served three years with the Apache Junction Police Department, died on June 8, following a shooting incident that occurred on June 2. He is survived by his wife, two children, and a grandchild.
Individuals, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate in this tribute to honor Officer Facio’s service and sacrifice.
