The roots of Maricopa High School trace back to 1952, ahead of its inaugural graduating class. At that time, students from the area traveled to Casa Grande for their education, some opting for a train journey while others received rides. Historical yearbook photos, sourced from the Maricopa Historical Society, depict eighth-graders from that era. In the back row are Ralph Cooper, Jack Daniels, Norma Barrett, Dorothy Thornhill, and Barbara Bryant. The front row features Jimmy Cooper, Boroas Van Dugen, Kennith Quinn, Kelly Fulbright, and Robert Hampton.

Brian Petersheim Jr. serves as a crime and breaking news reporter for InMaricopa, having joined the newsroom in October 2020. He is an alumnus of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
