Surprise Paramedic of the Year dies after battling cancer


Paul Johnson, a dedicated paramedic, passed away on November 21 after a courageous battle with cancer, as reported by the Surprise Fire-Medical Department.

Johnson, who was honored as Paramedic of the Year, was known for his exceptional service and compassion. The department expressed deep sorrow in a Facebook post, stating, “He was much more than just our Paramedic of the Year; he was a welcoming smile, an attentive ear, and a compassionate hand.”

Survived by his wife and three children, Johnson’s legacy will continue through them. His family has been supported through a GoFundMe campaign set up in his honor.

The Surprise Fire-Medical Department shared their grief, writing, “Our hearts are extremely broken today and we will continue to serve our great community in his honor. Rest Easy Our Dear Brother. We’ll take it from here.”
